The IFIP WG 5.7 17th Workshop on Experimental Interactive Learning in Industrial Management,in collaboration with the EU Network of Excellence GaLA and the International Simulation and Gaming Association conference (ISAGA2013) invites you for: “Gaming in an interconnected industry” June 25 + 26, 2013, in Stockholm, Sweden
Aims and scope of the workshopThe IFIP WG 5.7 17th international workshop on Experimental Interactive Learning in Industrial Management will be co-organized together with the research community GaLA, Games and Learning Alliance, the EU Network of Excellence for Serious Games. This year’s theme is focused on industrial management aspects that deal with the interconnectedness of firms, supply chains and production. Hosted by KTH’s Transport Science department, papers dealing with logistics, planning, concerted actions and activity models are particularly welcomed. The workshop is a ”working workshop” that bridges research and practice. It is intended for researchers, developers and users of SG’s in the field of business and industrial engineering and management. The workshop is multidisciplinary. We invite researchers e.g. from the management and engineering sciences, social sciences, education, psychology and law, design science and the serious games research community, to send in abstracts. The papers should deal with the design and use of Serious Games in the broad field of industrial management in different contexts. We appreciate especially empirical research on innovation and use of serious games, and their learning effects. Descriptions of new experimental approaches, combined with the scientific evaluation of the learning results, are especially welcome.
ThemesThe papers can address – but are not limited to – the following themes:
Accepted papers will be published in the printed proceedings of the workshop in Lecture Notes in Computer Science, published by Springer. This book series is ISI indexed (among many other indexes). The proceedings will be published shortly after the workshop. Target group and objectivesThe workshop brings together researchers, teachers as well as developers and users of SG’s, interested in design and learning issues. Sharing their experiences and research results, and experimenting and innovation SGs together, the participants will get ideas to further develop SG’s for experimental teaching, studying and learning. The workshop is also a unique forum to create professional and scientific networks.ProgramThe workshop will start with a keynote speech on Tuesday June 25, 9.00 hour and will end on Wednesday June 26, 17.30. A workshop reception will be offered on Tuesday evening. The workshop consists of a scientific part with presentations and discussions of submitted papers, and an experimental part where the participants will collaboratively experiment and co-design some SG prototypes or existing games. Venue and accommodationThe venue of the workshop is the Q building of the central KTH campus. Osquldasväg 6, Stockholm.
